Green Schools

Eight Green Flags, and Regional Marine Green School of the Year 2024.

National success for Ardagh NS

Not only have we been awarded our eighth Green Flag, we have also won the award for best Marine Green School in the West and North. We were one of four regional finalists in the running for the National Marine Green School prize. A stellar achievement by Mr Devenney, the Green School Committee, and all the girls and boys throughout the school.

Green Flags 1 to 5

We in Ardagh NS are very proud of our Green Schools Flags. The themes to date were Litter, Energy, Water, Travel and Biodiversity. Each time we got the flag we had to continue that work (for example, collecting and disposing of litter properly) and embark on a new theme.

Green Schools projects

This is just a small sample of the Green School project work that can be viewed on the display boards in the corridors, classrooms and school hall.
